Kaleidoskope takes place in the decor of the wooden huts of the German Christmas market, which ends on December 23 at 8 p.m.

“The spirit of kaleidoscopes is to highlight the living and dynamic human being. We leave the quintessential image of Old Quebec in a postcard and invite the public to experience a cultural and inclusive incursion,” said Mathieu Girard, creator of Kaleidoscopes and production manager of the German Christmas Market, in a Quebec press release.

15 shows will be presented in the gardens of the Hôtel-de-Ville. On the 27th we find the group Beat Sexü (2:30 p.m.), Narcisse (4:30 p.m.) and Gab Paquet (6:30 p.m.).

The Oval Lady (2:30 p.m.), LYD. (4:30 p.m.) and Millimetrik (6:30 p.m.) go on stage the next day.

Ephemeral Theater

On the Dufferin Terrace, by the Samuel de Champlain statue, aspiring creators will unveil ephemeral theatrical creations. Each of the cabins becomes a window onto grandiose or intimate interiors and surprising universes.

Two poets will stroll through the five locations on December 29th and 30th, starting at 3:30 p.m., to give passers-by the opportunity to make wishes, guided by a new poem on the themes of prosperity, health or happiness. The poets will also provide unpublished poems.

At Place d’Youville, living old Québec traditions are honored with stories, traditional music, crafts and jigs.

The family program takes place in the children’s chalet in the Rathausgarten. There will be various activities from making kaleidoscopes to reading a story.

The carillon installation, visible on the Diamant’s windows, which pays homage to the centuries-old clock tower that draws crowds to the heart of Munich, continues and is presented from 4pm to 9pm. It presents animations inspired by stories of 16th-century characters and pieces of music that stay true to the Germanic tradition.
