Paul Kitching, a Michelin-starred chef, has tragically died at the age of 61, his devastated wife Katie O’Brien has revealed.
In a heartbreaking statement shared on the social media platforms of his Edinburgh restaurant 21212, Katie wrote: “My love is gone. But what a love x’.
Paul’s cause of death is not yet known.

The world-class chef was recognized with tributes, with Tom Kerridge commenting on a crying face emoji.
One wrote: “Katie we’re so sorry to hear that! We have always loved eating with you and chatting with Paul. A great industry!! Send lots of love.’
While chef Shane Osboun wrote: “Such tragic news to hear the sudden death of the genius Paul Kitching. He was incredibly kind, generous and extremely talented.
“The meal he cooked for me at Juniper about 20 years ago was one of the best dining experiences of my life. His cuisine and hospitality made people beam with joy.
“Paul you will be missed by so many thanks for all the great memories. My thoughts and deepest condolences to Katie, his family and the team at 21212
Paul founded the Juniper restaurant in Manchester and was awarded a Michelin star in 1997, which he retained for 11 years.
