Las Tunas.- Without closing the registration deadline, 38 state and private companies from different Cuban provinces have registered to take part in the Industrial and Trade Fair that will be held from December 20th to 23rd in this eastern Cuban province , announced Salvador Sariol Vistorte, head of the provincial government’s foreign trade and foreign investment department. With this space, he said, authorities here hope to consolidate opportunities for Las Tunas products in international markets.
Said aspiration, he explained, is based on the fact that businessmen from Colombia, Uruguay and Canada interested in entering into economic cooperation agreements with Las Tunas companies in the fisheries and food industries will participate for the first time; which, if materialized, would give an unprecedented boost to the productive gears of the Balcón del Oriente Cubano. “It’s something new and the result of what we’ve been working on over the years,” he said.
In addition, Agropecuaria Integral de Las Tunas (Agroint) will present itself in its new status as a company with direct export competence. “We also hope that new business will be established between the foreign and the participating businessmen from Las Tunas,” he stressed. The latter, added Sariol Vistorte, after their presence at Expocaribe and the Havana International Fair, have prepared themselves and got an idea of what these events mean.
Once again, he specified, the areas of the theme park, the Plaza de la Revolución Mayor General Vicente García and the surroundings of the Leonardo McKenzie Grant multipurpose room will be chosen as the setting. There he expects “we will have activities for the population involving gastronomy, domestic trade and the non-governmental sector. We want it to be a city festival.”
During the three days, conferences, business meetings, product and service presentations and contract signings will take place. As in the previous year, the best samples that could be seen at similar fairs in the eight communities will now find their place. Exhibitors also compete for the Grand Prix, the award for the best stall, that of popularity and that of corporate governance. Sariol Vistorte clarified that business people who wish to do so can be present at the fair in the form of sales and professional visitors.
At the 2021 trade fair, then called the Winter Fair, 92 state or private companies were accredited, signing a total of 419 letters of intent and 42 contracts. For the occasion, the organizers were optimistic that not only will the channels of dialogue between domestic economic actors be consolidated, but above all new avenues will be opened for the products or services of Vicente García’s country in the squares of foreign trade , international markets.
