What do we know a week after alleged beatings

Police rule out a robbery and say the actor fell alone

After a week of investigations, police say Thiago Rodrigues fell alone. In an interview with Record TV’s Domingo Espetacular, the delegate denied that the former Globo actor was beaten during a robbery or was involved in a brawl.

Images released by the channel show that after 5:40 a.m. last Sunday (11) he appeared to be leaning on a fairground stall when he fell in Santos Dumont Square in Gávea, Rio de Janeiro’s South Zone

“I can tell he’s sitting in a fair stall and he’s suddenly falling and falling forward,” said the case’s delegate, Bianca Lima. “He claimed to have left the event with a friend. That friend would have said: Look Thiago, I left you in this place and you were fine. It was already 5:40 am,” he continued.

After falling, he was rescued by stallholders who were setting up their stalls and bystanders. “Here at the police station he just said: I don’t remember what happened,” said the chief of police.

Now the question for the police is whether the actor was stolen after the fall or whether he lost the device. “We will find out the whereabouts of this cell phone, we need time to notify the operators and find out where this cell phone is,” said the delegate.

Contacted by Record, Thiago Rodrigues’ agent preferred not to comment on either the video shown or the delegate’s statement.

understand the case

A week ago, on Saturday night (10), actor Thiago Rodrigues attended an event at the Jockey Clube where he was allegedly involved in a brawl in the VIP area. The next morning he was found unconscious by stallholders on Praça Santos Dumont in Gávea.

He was then taken to the Miguel Couto Hospital, where an injury to the actor’s head was confirmed. At first he claimed he was hit during a robbery, but as the week progressed police increased the likelihood of a fight and an accidental fall.

Although Thiago Rodrigues claimed he was robbed, only his phone disappeared. He was found with the backpack, lanyard and wallet. New witness testimonies and surveillance camera footage weakened the theft theory.
