New England Patriots radio announcers were in disbelief at what happened in the closing seconds of the team’s last-second loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday night.
Bob Socci made the play-by-play and former Patriots quarterback Scott Zolak made the commentary for Boston-based 98.5 The Sports Hub. Zolak may have provided the quote to speak to what all Patriots fans were thinking the moment Chandler Jones scored the winning goal.

“This is maybe one of the dumbest teams I’ve ever seen,” said Zolak.
That’s how the play went down.
In a 24-man draw, the Patriots ran back Rhamondre Stevenson and found a hole in the secondary Raiders. But instead of slipping or getting tackled to take the tie game into overtime, Stevenson decided he wanted to make a game out of nothing.

Stevenson passed the ball back to wide receiver Jakobi Meyers. The wide receiver grabbed the ball and attempted to throw the ball backwards toward Patriots quarterback Mac Jones. Instead, Raiders pass rusher Chandler Jones waited for the ball.
Chandler Jones ran over Mac Jones and scored the game-winning touchdown after time was up.
“Making too many mistakes together and giving up some big plays that obviously made the difference in the game,” Patriots coach Bill Belichick said after the game.

The Raiders came into the game 4-0 as they led by double figures at halftime – the first team since at least 1930 to lose four times in a season while leading by double figures at halftime. The team answered it with two touchdowns in the last 37 seconds to win the game.
