Shirley Ann Shepherd, Charlie Watts’ widow, has died of cancer 16 months after the Rolling Stones drummer died. The star’s widow turned 82 and the statement was released by the family.
“It is with great sadness that Seraphina, Charlotte and Barry announce the passing of their beloved mother, grandmother and motherinlaw, Shirley Watts,” the family said.
The star’s widow died last Friday after a “brief illness,” The Sun reported on Monday.
“Shirley passed away peacefully in Devon, England, surrounded by her family on Friday December 16th after a short illness. She will also be greatly missed by her sisters Jackie and Jill and her brother Stephen. She is now reunited, forever with her beloved Charlie,” the statement added.
Shirley Ann Shepherd and Charlie Watts were married 57 years and had one daughter, Seraphina.
