ON VIDEO | Gatineau residents victim of Christmas ‘grins’

Gatineau families became victims of Christmas smiles when their snowmen and Christmas decorations were damaged.

However, the perpetrators were caught red-handed by surveillance cameras last weekend.

In a video taken last Sunday in the Templeton sector in Gatineau, we can see the vandals getting out of a vehicle to destroy the snowman and then flee.

The family who fell victim to this vandalism denounce a completely unfounded gesture that will surely hurt their children. They put their heart and soul into making their snowman with this first broadside of the season.

Another family living in the flower district appears to have been targeted by the same criminals. Their inflatable Christmas structure was also destroyed by young people who obviously wanted to spoil the party.

“When we saw the video on Facebook, I showed it to him (the spouse), then he said that I saw exactly her. It’s really gestures that hurt little kids waking up in the morning,” Sarah Brunet told TVA Nouvelles.

The Service de Police de la Ville de Gatineau reminded us that these are public offenses that can indeed have serious consequences. So far, no official complaint has been filed.

“We get the impression that these are people who find it funny to do things like this, except that it’s criminal activity. Depending on the situation, you can be accused of offenses or theft, »said SPVG spokeswoman Josée Bouchard.
