NBC Universal replaces their long-running E! Pay TV channels in Australia after 18 years.

The channel will be discontinued by Foxtel on February 1, 2023 and the content will be moved to Seven Network’s new free-to-air channel, 7Bravo.

E! has struggled with declining ratings in recent years, largely as Keeping Up With The Kardashians moved to Disney+ after nearly fourteen years on the network.

“We’re thrilled that the very best Premiere content from E! will join 7Bravo in Australia,” NBC Universal told TV Blackbox in a statement.

7Bravo’s programming is intended to appeal to a female audience and will specialize in TV Tonight’s reality and true crime content coverage.

The new channel gives fans the chance to watch pay TV favorites like The Real Housewives of Miami and Dubai for free.

Angus Ross, Seven’s chief content officer, told the publication that 7Bravo is like a “female version” of the network’s 7mate.

Meanwhile, true crime shows on 7Bravo include The First Mindhunter, Black Widow Murder and Buried in The Backyard.

Bravo7 will also air new episodes of the famous US chat show The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and The Kelly Clarkson Show

It comes after Channel Seven announced in October it had struck a deal with US media giant NBCUniversal (NBCU) to launch a new channel.

As part of the multi-year deal, Seven has also acquired all of NBCUniversal’s scripted network and cable dramas and comedies, as well as their back catalogue

TV Blackbox reported that fans can look forward to sci-fi series Quantum Leap starring Raymond Lee and sitcom Lopez vs. Lopez starring George Lopez and Mayan Lopez as part of the deal.

Both shows will air on Channel Seven’s main channel next year.
