Alexander Callens, a defender who is usually called up to the Peru team, is known in our country as a Sport Boys fan, he even expressed his desire to retire from the pink team. However, there is another team in our football where the defender wants to play and that is the current two-time League 1 champions: Alianza Lima. This was revealed during an interview for “La lengua”.
“I said it, I would love to play at Alianza Lima at least once, but what I do is I want to retire at Sport Boys. I’ve always said that because I’m a fan thanks to my dad,” he explained.
His beginnings in football
“I started playing Central around the age of 14 or 15, very late. I played as a ‘9’, I liked playing at the back in training. The central defender didn’t show up for an association game and they substituted me on. The coach told me, ‘If you don’t play defense, you won’t play.’ And I didn’t want to do it.”
“The game is over, we won 2-0 and everyone applauded me, the parents, everyone. The coach said to me: ‘There you play’. I’ve played in Boys all my life. One day we played with San Martín. There was (Christian) Cueva, (German) Alemanno and (Aldo) Corzo. I played well and during the week the national team called up the U17s as a central defender. I was happier. From then on, I declared myself central,” he added.
