Cornered, Trump wants to overthrow the US government

In the midst of a week of bad news piling up for him, former US President Donald Trump has found nothing better to do than to call for another coup attempt on his platform Truth Social.

Writing on his @realDonaldTrump official account on Tuesday night, the day after the investigative committee into the Jan. 6, 2021 attack recommended criminal charges against the former president for attempting to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in which he opposed Joe Biden, Trump was adamant that his opponent, Biden, was not the legitimate leader of the United States and that the government must be overthrown.

Using a quote from Fox News conservative anchor Jesse Waters in reference to the recent “Twitter files” declaring that “the FBI and Twitter ‘COLLUDED’ to vote for Joe Biden,” Trump reiterated that “The 2020 presidential election was rigged and stolen”. .

“It all started a long time ago, they spied on my campaign and tried to rig the 2016 election but failed. Remember, our government is doing this, not any person or party,” Trump wrote.

“What to do about such a terrible thing, or should we let someone elected through fraud and deceit remain in power and continue to destroy our country?” he adds.

After Trump irrefutably lost the 2020 presidential election to Joe Biden, he peddled baseless claims that the election was marred by electoral irregularities and fraud in order to deny him a second term.

This “big lie” has even become a means for him and his supporters to continue to wield increasing influence in the Republican Party, Florida’s governor, in the face of the party’s soon-to-come primaries, in which Mr. Trump should face a host of opponents Ron DeSantis at the helm.

On Monday, the House of Commons inquiry into the storming of the Capitol recommended criminal charges of inciting rioting and conspiracy against the US state against Donald Trump. However, being classified as historic does not guarantee that a trial will take place.

Last night, elected American officials voted to release the tax returns of the former Republican president, who fought a legal battle for several years to keep them private.

This call to overthrow the government, which is not the first of its kind, therefore comes at a time when the noose around Donald Trump is tightening somewhat.
