From the nuanced dream of being a journalist to a TV career, from the endless soap opera with Alex Belli to the wishes for his career. Soleil Sorge is told in a long interview with Fanpage.it.
If there were the tools to rank the TV characters that have been the most talked about in recent months, Soleil rises he would not steal anything by standing on the dais. Miss Italy, Beijing Express, Men and Women, L’Isola dei Famosi, GF Vip, her is a record syllabus where reality show voice dominates. But there’s more, given Soleil Sorge’s role in the Alex Belli soap, which has been defined as an excellent experiment alongside gossip.soap formation of reality”, making it increasingly difficult to tell the real from the fake. Familiarity with the small screen, massive firepower on social networks, young age and exotic language nuances make Sorge a perfect prototype of the contemporary VIP, with other career aspirations he shared with us in this lengthy interview.
Influencer, TV face, columnist, reality lady. But what exactly do you do in life?
I work in the world of communications and entertainment, but I wouldn’t define myself primarily as a television character, precisely because my life is a series of things due to how our world is evolving.

So TV is secondary to you?
Television these days certainly allows for work, but it’s not the constant place to be, aside from the older characters. It is a great passion for me, however, to enable social networks to personalize our own world, which expands the communication possibilities of each of us.
There is also talk of you as a journalist, but you are not registered. Can you explain that to us?
It was a dream of mine to turn pro. From the moment I started working for magazines and also for AS Roma, I found myself at a crossroads: continue the classic path or work on my image by collaborating with brands, which is what journalism prevents you from doing with that Profession. Faced with this choice, I had to make a choice and although journalism and writing remain my passions, I thought my communication model could be different.
Walking the fine line between reality and soap opera has been the backbone of your GF Vip. Have you seen this construction from the inside?
Reality as a program decides to tell the reality of people being put in a bubble of whatever kind. Everything that happens is recorded and compressed, like what happens in a movie trailer, to collect the most interesting parts for the audience. I think the GF Vip was so passionate but from the inside we had no perception of it.
The authors seem to be the real soul of programs like GF Vip. How difficult is your “writing”?
It wasn’t the writers who wrote what we should do, quite the opposite: they write based on what’s happening on the show, be it a glitch, a story, a fight. They capture the most interesting points and try to tell them in the most captivating way for the viewer, because let’s not forget that we’re still in the entertainment world.

So what is missing for those who think it is a beautiful and good piece?
A fundamental factor to consider is the conditions you find yourself in extrapolated from everyday life, the comfort zones, the people you would go to for advice. These are conditions that produce in humans an increase in the perception of their own emotions, making them accelerated and more intense. I also fell in love with one of those reality shows and it was an intense love that we felt even after we left the program.
If it’s not fiction, then what is a reality show?
It’s an amplifier of emotions and I think that’s where the anthropological and behavioral interest in a reality show comes from. The comparison is a holiday with friends, where everything becomes more intense and accelerated. When you return to your everyday life, it almost seems like a dream, a reality far removed from yours. But it’s worth a lot, the bonds you make in the process remain intact even after you return to everyday life.
Behaviors and constructed situations that you have certainly seen.
We often think of fiction in reality shows as constructed situations and stories, which is very rare and paradoxical, since in this context it is very complicated to build a situation from scratch. On the other hand, the individual can become distorted, a person who can choose to position themselves in a certain way, rationing and smoothing out their own behavior in order to determine situations.
Some examples?
I’m thinking of Nathaly Caldonazzo, who came into the house with the express wish to provoke different people in different situations, certainly a bit for fun, since she was actually a very pleasant and interesting person. Another example is Patrizia Pellegrino, who walked in with a very violent clip with her leg stretched over me and then minimized everything as I introduced myself. In short, it’s a direction a person takes independently, not at the behest of the writers. There are people who are better at creating situations than others, but that’s more of a personal condition. A bit like in life.
Since you’re lovable and kind, you don’t seem to care. Is that a fair impression?
Yes, I have no interest in being a necessarily nice and lovable person. I know it’s me, I know my strengths, but when I find myself in front of a comparison, I don’t have the need to be a sweet and good person. I grew up in a society where you always had to prove that you were worth something and could be something. After reaching “a certain age” when I was no longer a child and having created my ego, I realized that I don’t feel the need to demonstrate, I feel the need to be. If people understand it well when they come up with another idea, that’s okay too. I am interested in being myself.
After Miss Italia there was Men and Women, Beijing Express, The Island of the Famous, GF Vip. Is reality a career?
It certainly is, because it gives you the opportunity to get paid and work, but that’s when reality shows end and it doesn’t necessarily give you the visibility, light, and positioning you’ve been looking for. I think they’re an experience to have when working in the entertainment world, but regardless of that in life as well. Beijing Express, the island of the famous, I would recommend it to everyone. Even Big Brother, maybe less than six months, are all paths that give you something and offer an opportunity for inner deepening.

The one with Alex Belli was the soap opera of the year. What happened?
There was a wonderful relationship with a wonderful person that I would no doubt bring into my life as a friend.
What changed then?
The commodification of our relationship, the constant desire to repeat this story of a possible triangle even though I’d never been interested in even having a relationship with him that went beyond friendship, disengaged me and left me clueless about the possibility that a search for him was forced certain situations. When our friendship is over, it is because when you know and bond with a person, certain events cause you to change your mind about those people.
Are you sorry it went like this?
Yes, without a doubt.
Not even sporadic messages on Whatsapp now?
No, unlike many other people I’ve had contact with, from Sophie Codegoni and Alessandro Basciano to Katia Ricciarelli.
As for the limit, your story has tickled the country’s belly, prompting the public to pay attention to issues like “polyamory.” Was it intentional?
Absolutely yes, in our small and without pretentiousness that’s what we tried to do to somehow shake up society by feeling free to love and be ourselves. We were aware of what was happening and I think I have to take responsibility if at some point the whole affair between me and Alex came down to communicating something wrong and wrong. When it comes to “polygamous love,” that wasn’t necessarily the message. It would be okay if he was someone else’s role model, but he wasn’t mine.
Before joining GF Vip, you said you were in a relationship with a mysterious figure. Is this a sequel?
Yup.
Does it remain mysterious?
In a world where everyone is interested in writing love stories, I’m interested in putting it aside and keeping it as private as it should be.
After Big Brother you are in La Pupa and the Nerdy. The transition from competitor to columnist now seems to be an automatism of television.
It doesn’t seem to happen very often to me. Certainly there was the case of Tommaso Zorzi, who had a great personality and irony, many factors that made him suitable for the role for the island. I think it’s a direct result of what you show on a reality show, I was trying to show myself in 360 degrees and I was hoping that an opportunity would come that someone would also notice my working abilities.
Competitor, then columnist. Management seems to be a natural consequence. Do you hope so?
It has always been my secret dream, from studying to doing tests in the bedroom, for my cuddly toys, to my experiences as a presenter in recent years. I really hope so, I can’t wait.
