McLaren Artura and Toyota Prius on the test bench

As part of the program “Le Guide de l’auto” on QUB Radio, Antoine Joubert and Germain Goyer shared their impressions of the recently tested Toyota Prius 2023 and McLaren Artura 2023.

Toyota Prius

For his part, Germain moved to California to drive the fifth generation Prius, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. More beautiful, but also more expensive, the 2023 Prius is a more successful and mature product than in the past. Despite a significant increase in performance – it now develops 196 hp – it retains an impressive consumption of 4.8 L/100 km.

He mentions that the size of the rims has increased from 15 to 19 inches and regrets the fact that rear visibility is not optimal. He specifies that in Canada the Prius is only offered with all-wheel drive (except for the Prime version). The system is being improved and it’s working at full speed. The new Prius will hit dealerships in early 2023. It will have to wait until spring for the marketing of the Prime version, the autonomy of which will be improved.

McLaren Arthur

Antoine was enchanted by the McLaren Artura, which he describes as one of the most beautiful cars on the market. He insists the British manufacturer is struggling financially and he’s put his all into this hybrid rechargeable technology model.

It is powered by a twin-turbo V6 engine that works in tandem with an electric motor and an eight-speed sequential gearbox. He particularly appreciated the sound of the petrol engine, which sings up to 8500 rpm. However, he specifies that you have to do acrobatics to get on board. It is offered from $276,500.

Le Guide de l’auto is on QUB Radio every Saturday at 10am and is repeated Sundays at 6pm.
