The combination of high tide and strong gusts forces the St. Lawrence River out of its nest.

The St. Lawrence River began to overflow around 4:30 p.m., coinciding with the high tide.
In addition, the Quebec City Police Department is advising residents to avoid the area near Dalhousie Street.
The river also overflows at the western tip of Île d’Orléans.
The Sûreté du Québec advises residents to move their vehicles to another location if they wish to disembark.
The Horatio-Walker promenade in Sainte-Pétronille is under water.
A gust of 120 km/h was just registered on the Île d’Orléans.
