December 23rd is one of the most lucrative days for traders; they don’t want to have to do without it.

Luckily there are many customers there despite the storm.

Caroline Leclerc, owner of boutique Rose Bon Bon, shares her surprise.

“This morning when I arrived I said to myself I will open my shop. And I will tell you that the traffic is still there, it’s surprising. We have brave people coming into the store, last minute people,” she says.

According to some retailers, customers would have organized their shopping after the storm and would therefore have been numerous to do their shopping on Thursday 22nd December.

Shannon Desbiens, owner of the bookshop Les Bouquinistes, bears witness to this.

“One of the nicest we’ve had in recent years, if not the nicest. Wow, seriously, when we looked at the number returned at the end, we shared that among all of us, that’s kicked our ass. That was unheard of,” he says happily.
