The updated number of severe weather events in the United States has risen to at least 28 deaths. The NBC website reports and states that the deaths occurred in Oklahoma, Kentucky, Missouri, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Kansas, Nebraska, Ohio, New York, Colorado and Michigan. Over three thousand faces deleted.
The electricity companies in many countries have called for energy saving: demand has actually exploded with the cold and there is a risk of not being able to meet it. In Tennessee, short-term power outages were decided to reduce consumption.
In New York, Gov. Kathy Hochul has deployed the National Guard to the state near Buffalo, the epicenter of the winter storm, to rescue hundreds of people stranded in their cars. Despite the driving ban, many actually got behind the wheel only to get stuck in bad weather.
