Again and again there are reports of unexpected deaths in the prolonged environment of Russian President Vladimir Putin. As it became known on Sunday, the director of the great Russian shipyard Admirality Shipyards, Alexander Buzakov, died unexpectedly at the age of 66.

The information was disclosed by the Russian news agency Tass, citing the company. For eleven years, Buzakov headed the Admiralty Shipyard, specializing in the construction of non-nuclear submarines and owned by the state. Details of the arms tycoon’s death were not initially provided.

Buzakov was considered one of the most important figures in the Russian defense industry. Under his command, diesel-powered submarines are said to have been built that can launch large-caliber missiles, according to Russian radio station Svoboda. According to official Russian information, these types of boats were also used in the war against Ukraine.
