A social “game” gone wrong or a cruel challenge to complete. These could be two of the possible reasons that prompted eight girls, ages 13 to 16, to mercilessly kill a 59-year-old in downtown Toronto. The man, with apparent psychophysical ailments, was usually taken in by reception centers in the Canadian city, but lately he’s been wandering around drunk even at night. A week ago, according to the regional police, eight young women were arrested on suspicion murder second degree. They stabbed the 59-year-old after trying to steal a bottle of liquor from him.

Investigators found that the young women had made an appointment social media. It is not known if they already knew each other or if they intended to hurt someone, but the fact is that their involvement in the attack has been confirmed by the police. The teenagers met in a large Toronto square near a train station and began harassing the man. First they cursed at him, then they tried to snatch the liquor bottle from his hand. In the face of the resistance attempt, they have it stabbed several times before running away. The 59-year-old was taken to hospital but his injuries were so severe he died soon after.

Profile of teenagers

The girls do not live in the same area, but come from distant parts of the city and have different social backgrounds. As reported by the fan page newspaper, a witness he allegedly told police the teenagers were sitting on a bench, smoking and drinking alcohol. Upon seeing the tramp, they spoke to him and attacked him for reasons still unknown. Young women would not be part of one corridor, but they acted like they had known each other for a long time. Now they are being tried for murder and attempted theft.
