Weather in Quebec: The bad weather is still being felt

The bad weather could cause some headaches for motorists at Christmas when Environment Canada has issued multiple weather warnings for fifteen sectors in Quebec.

Snowdrift warnings are in effect for the greater Montreal and Capitale-Nationale regions.

The scenario is the same in Mauricie, Centre-du-Québec, Montérégie, Lanaudière and the Laurentians.

Strong south-west winds will blow with gusts of almost 70 km/h. Visibility on the roads becomes difficult.

“Beware of snowdrifts from driving snow on roads, particularly in open areas, Environment Canada warned. Dangerous road conditions are to be expected due to limited visibility in some areas. Visibility could suddenly be reduced to almost zero.”

Snowdrifts are issued when winds forecast snowdrifts that reduce visibility to 0.5 miles or less for at least three hours.

Additionally, northern Quebec is on snowstorm warnings, while storm surge warnings have been issued for Sept-Îles and Port-Cartier.
