Prince Harry said his brother Prince William broke the agreement they made to avoid doing what they saw in their father’s office.
Speaking on his Netflix documentary Meghan & Harry, the Duke of Sussex said it was heartbreaking to see William’s office do what they promised never to do.
In the fourth episode of the documentary, Harry said, “I have 30 years of experience looking behind the scenes and seeing how the system works and how it runs.”
He said: “I just mean constant briefings about other family members, about favors inviting the press. It’s a dirty game.
“You know, there are leaks, but stories are also being planted.”
The Duke of Sussex added: “So if the communications team wants to be able to remove a negative story about their principle, they will act and give you something about someone else’s principle. In the end, the offices work against each other. It’s kind of a, weird understanding or acceptance that happens.”
He said: “And you can always say, ‘I didn’t know about it, or that would never happen again.
It’s like. ‘No. But what I’m asking is if you did anything to stop it.
“And the answer is no.”
“William and I both saw what was happening in our father’s office. And we agreed that we would never let that happen in our office.
I would much rather be destroyed in the press than play this game of this trade deal.
And to see my brother’s office copying the same thing that the two of us promised would never do. That was heartbreaking.”
