Obviously, Marilou embodies what many other separated parents may be feeling this holiday season.

His post was liked by more than 34,000 subscribers and shared 485 times by the end of Sunday.

The nearly 2,400 testimonials she received in response to her post are messages of hope, support and understanding.

“With you from the bottom of my heart … my daughter has been with her dad since Thursday and will be back tomorrow … Even after several years it still hurts so much, especially since it’s not a situation that I chose … I also admit the right cry,” says one subscriber.

“My parents separated when I was 12. And I lived exactly what you live today, as soon as I had to leave one or the other of my parents to go to the other party. I hated this party that caused too many emotions. Life has been good to me, it has allowed me to reconcile with Christmas by giving me the happiness of giving birth to a son on Christmas day, a surprise pregnancy!” says another.

The founder reminds her audience three times a day that “even though it’s Christmas, life goes on. And life is not all about sharing, joy and ecstasy.”
