The New York Jets are poised to pull off a blockbuster to land a talented wide receiver. According to Pro Football Network’s Tony Pauline, the team would love to add San Francisco 49ers’ Deebo Samuel with a big back and is willing to use the No. 10 overall to do so.

“It’s no surprise, but the word in league circles is the Jets, and Joe Douglas in particular, are all poised to use this election to acquire Deebo Samuel,” Pauline wrote Saturday.

Of course, the chatter from Santa Clara suggests the 49ers aren’t looking to trade their jack-of-all-trades receiver, who amassed 1,770 all-purpose yards and 14 total touchdowns last season, not including his passing touchdown. However, talks over a contract extension have reportedly stalled.

If San Francisco Samuel acts, it will likely be before or during the first round of the draft, which begins Thursday night. The 49ers currently have no first-round picks and are scheduled to make their first pick at 61st overall.

Irons: Jets should offer the 49ers WR Deebo Samuel as the No. 10 overall

The New York Jets own the No. 4 overall standings. They also own number 10 overall. One media personality, Rich Eisen, believes Jets head coach Robert Saleh should pick up the phone, call his former team, the San Francisco 49ers, and help facilitate a trade — with the help of general manager Joe Douglas, of course. “The Jets were on Tyreek Hill in March on ‘The hell going on’ day,” Eisen said on The Rich Eisen Show. “They offered two [second-round picks] for him. … They don’t act [their first-round picks] for Tyreek Hill. Deebo is a different story.” Eisen suggests the Jets trade the No. 10 overall for the disgruntled 49ers

Deebo Samuel demands about $25 million annually from 49ers, per report

Deebo Samuel may be tired of waiting for his new deal while watching other NFL wide receivers cash in this offseason. Davante Adams got a new deal worth up to $28 million a year from the Las Vegas Raiders after being traded from the Green Bay Packers. Tyreek Hill has signed a new contract worth up to $30 million a year after moving from the Kansas City Chiefs to the Miami Dolphins. The Buffalo Bills signed Stefon Diggs to a long-term contract, paying the receiver $24 million annually. Samuel continues to wait for the 49ers to show the same kind of love. The dynamic wide receiver may have shown some frustration by removing all traces of his current team from Instagram, which is not an uncommon but not essential negotiating tactic these days

49ers have “no intentions” to trade with Deebo Samuel, according to the report

News on the San Francisco 49ers was turned on its head on Wednesday when ESPN’s Jeff Darlington reported that wide receiver Deebo Samuel had requested a trade. NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport later reported that the 49ers all-rounder was frustrated with his role in 2021, which helped make him want out. San Francisco asked him to catch passes and line up running back, which puts a lot of strain on the body. The 49ers are unwilling to do their disgruntled star player any favors, according to Connor Hughes, who reports on the New York Jets for The Athletic. The team has influence afterwards

Deebo Samuel’s brother comments that WR will be looking to trade 49ers

Maybe it was a joke. Maybe he meant it. However, this Facebook comment could shake up the San Francisco 49ers fanbase. Wide receiver Deebo Samuel’s brother, Tyquan Samuel, said Deebo will be asking for a trade. #49ers Deebo Samuel’s brother commented on one of my Facebook posts that Deebo is requesting a trade πŸ‘€ pic.twitter.com/VCRnqgOO52β€” π™π™π™šπ™Žπ™π™‰π™žπ™£π™šπ™§π™¨
