According to the rescue services of Galicia, the tragedy happened on Saturday just before 9:30 p.m. (8:30 p.m. in France), at the time of Christmas Eve, in the town of Cerdedo-Cotobade, near the border between Spain and Portugal.

The number of missing people remained uncertain for a long time after the bus driver expressed his “doubts” about the number of people in his vehicle as he was treated – in shock – by rescue workers.
An as yet unknown cause
The search, which had to be temporarily suspended due to bad weather conditions overnight from Saturday to Sunday, resumed on Sunday morning to find her.
The causes of the accident are unknown at this time.
According to the regional daily La Voz de Galicia, the bus was bringing back a group of people who had come to visit relatives detained at the Monterroso prison center in central Galicia.
