Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is putting pressure on Kyiv.
WAR IN UKRAINE – Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s message is clear: Moscow’s proposals to “demilitarize” and “denazify” Ukraine are well known to Kyiv, which should implement them for its own good, otherwise the Russian army will decide, the agency reports Portal on Tuesday 27 December.
“Our proposals to demilitarize and denazify the areas controlled by the regime, to eliminate the threats they pose to the security of Russia, especially to our new provinces, are well known to the enemy,” the minister said, quoted by the official Russian news agency TASS.
“The point is simple: fulfill them for your own good. Otherwise, the question will be decided by the Russian army,” he warns.
To justify its invasion of Ukraine, Moscow had proposed a “military special operation” to “demilitarize” and “denazify” its neighbor.
Moscow condemns Ukrainian attacks on its territory
This Monday, December 26, Moscow also accused Ukraine of attacking its territory, notably by launching a drone against an airbase on Russian territory hundreds of kilometers from the front lines, the second such operation this month.
The Russian Security Services (FSB) also claimed to have “eliminated” Ukrainian “saboteurs” trying to invade Russia’s Bryansk region from Ukraine.
According to Russian news agencies, a Ukrainian drone was shot down as it approached the Engels base in the Saratov region some 600 km from Ukraine overnight.
“As a result of the crash of debris from the drone, three Russian technicians who were at the airfield were fatally injured,” the TASS agency said, citing the Ministry of Defense.
This report of three soldiers killed was confirmed by regional governor Roman Boussarguine on his Telegram account.
