Klay Thompson praises Jonathan Kuminga for his crucial performance in the Hornets’ victory

Jonathan Kuminga answered Tuesday in the Warriors’ 110-105 win over the Charlotte Hornets at the Chase Center.

With Steph Curry out with a left shoulder subluxation and illness delaying the return of Andrew Wiggins after he was cleared for the game, Kuminga provided the Warriors with a second goal.

In 23 minutes off the bench, the 20-year-old scored 14 points, taking eight points in the second half when Kuminga shot 4 from 4 from the field.

“JK is an incredible athlete, an incredible two-way player,” Klay Thompson said to Bonta Hill, Chris Mullin and Festus Ezeli on Warriors Postgame Live after the win as he sent the 6ft-7 forward for the praised what he brought to the court.

“His ability to play over the edge adds a whole new dimension to our team. He’s a future star in this league and I love competing with him. And we wouldn’t have won the game without him and he was so great playing both sides of the ball.”

Thompson puts Kuminga in the spotlight, but the veteran guard also had an excellent night for the Warriors, scoring 29 points in 39 minutes while shooting 10 of 22 from the field.

Kuminga won’t have long to wait to build on that performance when the Warriors take on the Utah Jazz at the Chase Center on Wednesday.
