‘Christmas is pretty quiet’: Lorraine Kelly says she’s grateful she doesn’t feel the ‘pressure’ to see her relatives over the holidays
Lorraine Kelly said she was grateful she wasn’t feeling the “pressure” to see her relatives during the holiday on Tuesday.
The 63-year-old presenter revealed her Christmas was “pretty quiet” after she and husband Steve saw loved ones celebrating their wedding anniversary last month.
Lorraine admitted she’s “not worried about taking the time” to see her relatives between Christmas and the New Year, as they normally would.
‘We don’t have the pressure to see everyone’: Lorraine Kelly said she was grateful she didn’t feel the ‘pressure’ to see her relatives during the holiday on Tuesday
She said ahead of the holidays: “Christmas will be reasonably quiet. [Our daughter] Rosie threw a surprise party with all our friends and family for our anniversary last month, so luckily we don’t have the pressure to see everyone.
“We’ll still be doing Zoom calls with family.”
This Christmas, Lorraine’s husband took over the cooking because he’s “a much better” cook, so she planned to clean up afterwards.

Before December 25, she said: “We’ll be having dinner later than usual as Rosie will be working until 3pm, Steve is much better at cooking so he’ll take care of everything.
“I don’t find it particularly comfortable, but I enjoy sitting with a glass of wine and watching him create something amazing. I like to clean up afterwards.”
The ITV star is shedding 20 pounds this year but has no plans to stick to her restricted diet over the holidays as she doesn’t want to be the ‘party pooper’.
She said: “I’ll definitely try it for Christmas. It’s just one day and you don’t want to be the spoilsport.

“We’ll still have puddings and chocolates and I’m a big believer in having treats, just not every night.”
On the morning of Boxing Day, Lorraine upped the ante for a brand new festive special on her daytime TV talk show of the same name.
She welcomed a number of special guests to join the celebrations, with the show including an appearance from Craig David and appearances from the likes of Gary Barlow and Ant and Dec.
The pre-taped special saw Lorraine return to her usual spot in the studio with a celebratory glass of Bucks Fizz to ring in Christmas morning.
The Scottish star wore a black dress with gold sequins and enlisted a slew of star and show favorites to help her out for the day.
And doing what he does best, the show’s LA Showbiz correspondent Ross King was on hand virtually to do an exclusive interview with Take That’s Gary Barlow.
