With its immersive atmosphere, Death Stranding could have been a VR game, but it doesn’t natively support headsets, so fans will have to find ways to enjoy Kojima Productions’ debut game with a VR headset.
Death Stranding VR: a promising development
Earlier today, VRified Games shared a new video on their YouTube channel showing a VR mod in the works for Death Stranding. With vorpX, the mod is far from perfect, but with a little extra work it could become a great way to spice up the Death Stranding experience.
While Death Stranding does very well as a standalone title, this is just the start of the series as Kojima Productions is working on its sequel. Last week, Hideo Kojima spoke about the game and explained that it was him rewritten in the wake of the pandemic so that it matters more to the players.
“It was the same with 9/11. Fiction changes when something so important happens. When something happens that no one thought possible, previously written works of fiction lose their entertainment appeal.
That’s why I also completely rewrote DS2 from its themes. You can’t pretend something this big never happened. Although the games are based on characters that have nothing to do with our reality, the players themselves experienced the pandemic and a story written before this experience would not have the same resonance for them, whether it was a fantasy – or a science fiction story. »

Death Stranding is available now for PlayStation 4, while the Director’s Cut version is available for PC and PlayStation 5.
