Lily Collins reveals she had to develop a strong ‘backbone’ to deal with negative criticism: ‘You’re not always going to get good reviews’
Lily Collins needed a strong “backbone” to handle criticism.
The 33-year-old actress, who plays Emily Cooper in Emily in Paris, has learned throughout her career to “break through the negative.”
She told V magazine: “I think meeting people, networking, learning, it will all inform the craft, the skills and your strength better.

“Even if you were an overnight success, even if you had a great hit, movie, or hit TV show and the next thing you did was bombed, well, it’s kind of a famous saying, ‘You are only as good as your last performance.”
“You really have to develop the backbone to overcome the negative because you’re not always going to get good reviews.
“I haven’t always gotten good reviews — believe me.”
Meanwhile, earlier this year, Lily announced the launch of her own production company.
The actress took to social media to announce the launch of CASE STUDY FILMS, which she co-founded with husband Charlie McDowell and producer friend Alex Orlovsky.

“We will work to tell compelling and unconventional stories alongside established talent and new, exciting voices for this generation and the next.
