In 1989, the presenter “Sem Censura” gave an interview on TV Brasil and gave details of his routine as presenter of “Jornal da Globo”, at the age of 26 and already with Fátima Bernardes. with whom he shared his life.

In the chat, William Bonner shared what it was like working in telejournalism, having had very little experience in band before being hired by Latin America’s largest broadcaster.

“From the moment you got on TV, and in my case from when I practically started my career at Globo — I had eight months of television journalism when I was hired by Globo — I’ve learned that Globo put me into this or that will bring in newspaper for so long or for shorter or longer time,” he began.

“The dance of the hosts on the television news follows solely the convenience of the broadcaster. It is not my job to say: “I am the presenter of Jornal da Globo”. Or: “I am the presenter of Fantástico”. I present these two newspapers,” he continued.

DIFFICULTY

William Bonner started talking about working hours at the train station. “Now, in this application, a possible move from ‘Jornal da Globo’ to another television news program, whatever it may be, does not necessarily mean that I will be demoted or promoted. We have to adapt to the set schedule,” he explained.

The presenter told what his biggest problem on the channel is. “I find it particularly difficult to work in the mornings. I don’t work in the morning. I’ve already worked mornings at Globo in São Paulo, I’ve been doing ‘Bom Dia São Paulo’ for a month over the holidays by presenter Carlos Tramontina,” he delivered.

William Bonner admitted to being afraid of working at these times. “It’s awful. Just thinking about when I woke up to do that gives me goosebumps. If I have to do that at Globo today, I have to see it,” he said.
