Aaron Rodgers missed practice for the Packers on Wednesday with a knee injury but said he will return to practice on Thursday as he prepares for a crucial divisional clash against the Vikings.

Green Bay massively boosted their playoff hopes by winning 26-20 in Miami last weekend when Rodgers threw for 238 yards and a touchdown for the win.

But Rodgers hobbled in the game after suffering a blow to the knee in the second quarter and ended up with the issue on the injury report this week.

Still, the quarterback doesn’t seem overly concerned about his latest injury, describing Wednesday’s absence as “a nice little Veteran’s Day.”

“I’ve just been through rehab for the past few days and I’m feeling a lot better,” he said.

The 39-year-old also suffered a tear on his pitching thumb in Week 5 and a rib injury in Week 12, although he has struggled through the pain to start every game so far.

The Packers will be hoping Rodgers is at his best (or almost) his best when they host the Vikings on Sunday.

Green Bay (7-8) have fought their way back into the playoff hunt from a 4-8 record, but there’s more to come.

To get through the postseason, Rodgers and the Packers must beat the Vikings and Lions in the last two weeks of the season while still hoping that either the Giants lose or the Commanders lose once.

While it’s still a tall order – FiveThirtyEight gives them a 27 per cent chance of making the postseason, they’ve at least given fans meaningful football to watch after the week 12 season looked doomed.
