Greta Thunberg takes another swipe at ‘toxic’ influencer Andrew Tate

Greta Thunberg has once again attacked ‘toxic’ influencer Andrew Tate over his arrest for rape in Romania.

The Swedish eco-activist tweeted this morning: “This is what happens when you don’t recycle your pizza boxes” – in reference to reports that police were tipped to Tate’s Bucharest location after he posted a video of him standing next to a Romanian Pizza sat box.

Earlier in the week, Tate sparked a war of words with 19-year-old climate activist Thunberg when he shared a picture of himself next to a Bugatti and claimed he owns 33 cars.

“Please provide your email address so I can send a complete list of my car collection and their respective huge emissions,” he tweeted, tagging Thunberg.

She replied: “Yes, please enlighten me. email me at smalld***[email protected].’

It comes as the former kickboxer was being held alongside his brother Tristan and two other suspects while his home in the capital Bucharest was searched.

“The four suspects … appear to have formed an organized crime group with the aim of recruiting, harboring and exploiting women by forcing them to create pornographic content to be viewed on specialized websites for a fee,” prosecutors said Portal news agency.

A spokesman for Tate told : “We are unable to provide details at this time on alleged reports of her detention; However, Andrew and Tristan Tate have the utmost respect for the Romanian authorities and will always help and assist in any way they can.’

Since retiring from martial arts, Tate has drawn attention for his misogynist online commentary.

He rose to fame in 2016 when he was removed from British TV show Big Brother over a video that appeared to show him beating a woman with a belt.

In 2017, he was banned from Twitter for saying women should “take responsibility” when they were sexually assaulted, but was reinstated last month.

Tate and his brother have been under investigation along with two Romanian nationals since April.

Footage widely shared on social media appears to show Tate and his siblings being led away from a luxury mansion. Five years ago he moved to Romania.

The Romanian Directorate of Investigation into Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) previously issued a statement but did not name the Tate brothers, saying that two British nationals and two Romanian nationals were suspected of being part of a criminal group that was turning focused on human trafficking.

Video of the raid was also released, showing guns, knives and money in a room.

Andrew and Tristan Tate are both dual citizens of the United States and the United Kingdom. Born to an American father and British mother, the brothers grew up partly in both countries.

Police said the two British suspects used the “loverboy method” to lure female victims, falsely declaring their love and intention to marry them.

The victims were then transported to buildings in Ilfov district on the outskirts of Bucharest, where they were “sexually exploited” and forced to appear in pornographic videos for distribution on social media, the police statement said.

Police say the suspects used “physical violence and psychological coercion” to force the women to comply with their demands, including “intimidation, constant surveillance, monitoring and appeals to alleged debts.”

According to police, a total of six victims have come forward claiming they were sexually exploited by the organized crime group.

Cops did not name the men whose homes were raided in Romania, but images from the raids appeared to match scenes from Tate’s home previously posted to social media.

Police said the four suspects were questioned Thursday and police ordered the suspects to be detained for a 24-hour period.

According to local press reports, the property of a former Romanian police officer was also searched on Thursday and she was arrested for questioning as part of the investigation.

Born in Chicago, Illinois but raised in Luton, England, Tate has earned a dubious reputation through his various business ventures.

He and his brother Tristan are said to have set up a webcam business in Romania, where young models told sob stories to unsuspecting male viewers.

Although Tate previously said the site was “a total scam,” Tate claims to have made millions from it.

Tate found himself in hot water after getting into a Twitter spat with eco-activist Thunberg.

He called her – and shared a photo of himself fueling up his Bugatti supercar – and asked her to send him her email address so he could describe the “huge emissions” his gas-guzzling, high-performance cars were spewing out.

Tate tweeted Tuesday: “Hello Greta Thunberg. I have 33 cars. My Bugatti has a w16 8.0L quad turbo. My TWO Ferrari 812 Competizione have 6.5L v12s. This is just the beginning. Please enter your email address so I can send you a full list of my car collection and its huge emissions.’

Thunberg made a brutal comeback in a tweet to her 4.9 million followers, saying, “Yes, please enlighten me. Email me at smalld***[email protected].’
