Salvador Valdés Mesa leads the Cuban delegation at the inauguration of the President of Brazil

The Vice President of the Republic of Cuba, Salvador Valdés Mesa, will attend the inauguration ceremony of the President-elect in Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, this January 1st.

According to the Foreign Ministry website, during his stay in Brasilia, which begins this Thursday, the Cuban head of state will hold meetings with local authorities and with representatives of political parties, social movements, businessmen and organizations in solidarity with Cuba, among other things.

The delegation includes Deputy Foreign Minister Josefina Vidal Ferreiro; the director for South America of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Carlos de Céspedes Piedra; and the charge d’affaires of Cuba in Brazil, Adolfo Curbelo Castellanos.
