“Edson died, he left. There’s no way Pelé can. Pelé is forever. Pelé is eternal, the name of the film… It’s definitely not a way for anyone who wants to know Pelé’s work to end it,” Machado compared.
The two talked about Pelé also referring to the third person. “He made an explanation, I became Pelé very early, a kid who played ball in Bauru. […] I’ve never seen anyone live with a character as good as him,” he said.

The memories of Cléber Machado
The narrator, born in 1962, has strong memories of the 1970 World Cup, the year of the trio. “The first thing I remember was his goal against Czechoslovakia. I really liked the young guard. I fell in love with football after the 1970 World Cup,” he recalled.
Machado also stressed that the 1970 trophy was the first to be broadcast live in the country. As a child, he spent his vacations in Santo and attended the King of Football games with his father. “He will always be the best player in the world,” he was touched.

Pele died at the age of 82
Pele’s cause of death was multiple organ failure. The condition was caused by a tumor in the former athlete’s colon, which was diagnosed in September last year.

Due to the cancer diagnosis, Pelé has undergone multiple chemotherapy sessions since September 2021. However, in November of that year, the playmaker’s doctors warned the former player’s family that the disease had progressed. He was in palliative care.
