New Year’s. Music, toast and barrels for New Year’s Eve in Bergamo. After two years of pandemic restrictions, the city is once again celebrating the longest night on the calendar.
The protagonists of the show, performed on the night of December 31st, were the 18 Orobic artists who performed on the three stages in Piazzale Alpini. Four thousand seats were available for the (free) event organized by Rete Doc and promoted by the municipality in collaboration with the capital’s three main musical souls – Edoné, Ink Club and NXT Station – which will host a “live show” by bands and hosted artists from Bergamo, while the other stages offered simultaneous DJ sets.
The evening began at 6:30 p.m. through Feb. “In Bergamo, after a two-year hiatus, we return to celebrate the New Year in the square: the Concertone will be an exceptional event to welcome 2022 and welcome a very special 2023 that will see us with Brescia, Italian Capital of Culture will – explains Nadia Ghisalberti, Councilor for Culture -. This New Year’s festival, with a new and dynamic format, was born by involving the most active and interesting realities of Bergamo’s music scene. Historical and established bands perform as well as young up-and-coming talents».
The Edoné stage (along Via Lussana) featured the bands Blu Wit, Planet Opal and Le Capre a Sonagli, as well as Marlon Dj and Bergamo Reggae, making people dance, while Ink Club One (inside the Science Center) the Scene was a live show by Circo Stanza, Blk Donuts & Guests and Colpi di Soul, but also performances by Dj Phonky City and Mamas. The Doc/NXT Station stage (centrally located in Piazzale Alpini, as in recent months) was animated by Filippo Cattaneo Ponzoni, Chiamamifaro, Iside and Funky Lemonade, as well as Studio Inferno ’70, Forever Dj ’80 and Certain nights ’90.

Controls and a very active security service were activated on the square throughout the evening, with the presence of law enforcement officers: until one o’clock there were no reports of inconveniences or problems. Firecrackers and some firecrackers were fired in the square and in the streets of the center of Bergamo: no injuries were recorded.
