Kansas guard Ochai Agbaji declares himself for 2022 NBA draft, saying ‘I’ll always be a Jayhawk’

Kansas senior guard Ochai Agbaji, who was named the Final Four’s most outstanding player after leading the Jayhawks to their fourth men’s national basketball championship, has declared himself for the 2022 NBA draft announced via social media On Sunday.

“‘How did it feel?’ I’ve probably been asked this question a thousand times since we won the national championship,” Agbaji wrote in his post. “And while I’m not sure I found the right words to accurately describe the excitement and surreal nature of that moment, I know this much: I never tire of talking about it.

“From start to finish, this whole season felt like a script. A season I will remember forever. One I will never take for granted Jayhawk.”

Agbaji, the Big 12 Player of the Year, is expected to go 16th in the latest mock draft by ESPN’s Jonathan Givony and Mike Schmitz.

The 6-foot-5 Agbaji has averaged 18.8 points per game this season for the Jayhawks, who made a historic comeback in the national title fight against North Carolina.

Agbaji was also a finalist for the Wooden Award.
