Between the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023, there are certainly quite a few events to attend between the last Friday and Saturday of the 22nd and the first Sunday of 2023. Music, concerts, theatrical performances, events in the squares and more exhibitions, free museums on January 1st and then the Ferris wheel and the longest ice rink in Europe: two attractions not to be missed.
green line
Change the name but not the magic. F-Light, the name by which we have known the Florence Festival of Lights for the last few years, is called Green Line from this year. As we expected, this decision is linked to current issues of sustainability, ecology, energy saving, environmental protection and cultural heritage. A unique opportunity to see the Palazzo Vecchio, the Ponte Vecchio and Piazza Santa Maria Novella illuminated with color games and video mapping.
Christmas market in San Donato
The Christmas market in the San Donato shopping center is also open this Christmas weekend and among its 45 wooden houses you can find delicacies to taste or give away, as well as handicrafts, jewels and much more.
The Ferris wheel
The Ferris wheel is an attraction not to be missed, especially on the last weekend of 2023, also because seeing Florence from 55 meters high will be a unique experience.
The ice rink, the market and the street food
In addition to cycling, the gardens of Fortezza da Basso are also enlivened by the longest ice skating rink in Europe, where both adults and children can have fun. All around there is the Christmas market with wooden houses and kiosks with street food.
