A woman has been charged with assault after pushing a three-year-old child onto the tracks.

The incident happened at a train station in North Portland, Oregon on Wednesday evening.

CCTV footage shows Brianna Lace Workman standing up abruptly and giving the child a big shove in the back.

The latter, standing very close to her mother, was thrown onto the tracks.

No contact had taken place between the various protagonists of this story before the crime of the 1930s.

“The toddler fell head first onto the rails before they could be rescued. She sustained minor injuries to her forehead and suffered from a headache,” the Multnomah County Attorney’s Office said in a statement.

Ms. Workman is listed as a homeless person in Portland, according to Oregon Live.

She faces multiple charges including assault and endangering the lives of others.

She remains in custody awaiting her next appearance.
