Zomato Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer Gunjan Patidar resigns

Online grocery delivery platform Zomato Ltd said its co-founder and chief technology officer Gunjan Patidar resigned from his post on Monday.

Patidar was one of Zomato’s early employees and built the core technical systems for the company, according to a regulatory filing.

“Over the last 10+ years he has also built an excellent tech leadership team with the ability to lead the tech function going forward. His contribution to building Zomato has been invaluable,” the company said.

However, he did not give any reasons for his resignation.

In November last year, another of the company’s co-founders, Mohit Gupta, resigned. Gupta, who joined Zomato four and a half years ago, was promoted to co-founder in 2020 from the position of CEO of the grocery delivery business.

Zomato had seen some top-level departures last year, including those of Rahul Ganjoo, head of new initiatives, and Siddharth Jhawar, former vice president and head of Intercity, and co-founder Gaurav Gupta.
