A snowplow hit one of actor Jeremy Renner’s legs, a witness told TMZ. According to the site, the accident left a lot of blood at the scene, effectively a “crime scene.” Another neighbor, who is a doctor, reportedly managed to put a tourniquet on his leg before paramedics arrived.
Still, according to TMZ, the machine used has several safety mechanisms and shouldn’t have gone over the actor’s leg.
Renner, who plays Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is in “critical but stable” condition. The information was confirmed to the Deadline website this morning by a representative of the artist, who turns 52 on the next 7.
The accident happened yesterday morning at the actor’s home in Reno, a city in the US state of Nevada known for its snowcapped mountains. The spokesman did not specify what happened, saying only that Jeremy Renner suffered a “weatherrelated accident while shoveling snow.”
He had to be taken to the hospital by helicopter and is now being “excellently cared for” along with his family, according to the publication.
A local police representative gave details of the rescue to The Hollywood Reporter: “Upon arrival at the scene, agents worked with firefighters and paramedics to arrange for Mr Jeremy Renner’s medical transport in a helicopter to a hospital in the area. Mr. Renner was the only person involved.”
The police are investigating the circumstances of the accident. At the turn of the year passed the region where Jeremy Renner experienced a snowstorm that left 35,000 households without electricity. In the United States, the cold front has claimed more than 60 lives in recent weeks.
Renner is known for playing Clint Barton, the superhero Hawkeye, in several Marvel films and in a recent miniseries he starred on Disney+. He was twice nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for The Hurricane in 2010 and for Best Supporting Actor for Dangerous Attraction in 2011.
