The lady was taken to hospital after being hit in the upper body by at least one rifle bullet. The Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) later reported that his life was not in danger.

According to initial information, suspects who were in a moving vehicle shot another vehicle traveling on the side road before fleeing the scene, SPVM spokeswoman Mariane Allaire Morin said.
Traces apparently left by the cannon shells in the door of the target car.

In addition to the driver, two other people were in the target vehicle. A first fled before police arrived, while the second escaped unhurt.
