“On December 31, up to 10 units of enemy military equipment of various kinds were destroyed or damaged” in Makiivka, Donetsk region, the Ukrainian General Staff said in a message on the social network Facebook, indicating that the number of resource losses among Russian people was still to rate.
According to various Russian and Ukrainian media reports, hundreds of Russian soldiers recently mobilized to invade Ukraine were reportedly killed in the Polytechnic School building in the town of Makiivka, Donetsk region.
The Russian television channel Tsagrad estimates the number of victims at “hundreds”, the proRussian channel Operational Reports of the social network Telegram speaks of 500 dead.
Some Ukrainian media quoted the Communications Department of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as reporting 400 Russian soldiers killed and another 300 wounded.
The Russian government had already confirmed the deaths of more than 60 soldiers this Monday (January 2) in an attack by the Ukrainian army with highly mobile artillery rockets (HIMARS) on a city in the Donetsk region.
The Russian Defense Ministry initially said that 63 soldiers were killed in the attack, which hit a makeshift deployment site in the town of Makivka.

A few hours later, the Ukrainian Joint War Crimes Control and Coordination Center confirmed that Ukrainian forces had carried out several artillery attacks on the city of Donetsk.
More specifically, Ukrainian journalist Bohdan Butkevych quoted sources as saying the HIMARS “tore down the school building like a house of cards,” mentioning the deaths of about 300 Russian soldiers.
