After news of Walter’s death was confirmed, ABC began airing several specials dedicated to the late journalist. Our Barbara: A 2020 special had various ABC News colleagues commemorate Walters and all of the pioneering accomplishments she made in the industry.
ABC News Live also aired a special titled “The View Honors Barbara Walters,” in which she “discusses her iconic interviews, memorable moments from The View, and how she inspired generations of women to follow the path she… paved for them, thought. Walters shares an honest and vulnerable look at her childhood, raising her daughter, family life and the demands of her career. Celebrating the best of Walters on The View, from unexpected moments to her fierce journalistic instincts, the special looks back at her emotional last days as co-host, including her final episode in which 25 female journalists surprised the woman who led the way led. And finally, in her own words, Walters says goodbye to the show she created.”
Both specials are available to stream on Hulu.
