Chrissie Swan is shocked after finding out she can’t find a COMMON kitchen item in her US hotel rooms – and is forced to take matters into her own hands
Chrissie Swan was shocked after discovering electric kettles aren’t common in America.
The Project star, 49, who is currently on vacation in the US, shared with her fans on Instagram that she couldn’t find a kettle in any of the hotels she’s stayed in and was forced to buy one to make tea .
‘Community Service Announcement. There are no kettles anywhere in the US to boil tea water,” she wrote.

“If you ever come here, make sure you go to Walmart or something like that and get one (this was $14) and you’ll have tea everywhere.
She also suggested putting a mug in the shopping cart.
“Take a big, cheap jug, too, or bring one from home. The paper cups are not. x,” she added.
Australian influencer Kaila Smith revealed last year that she was also confused that America doesn’t have electric kettles.

“I did a little research and asked people and they said Americans are low voltage [electrical systems] So it takes a long time to use a kettle,” she said.
“You either use the microwave or a kettle on the stove.”
Chrissie has undergone a complete transformation in the past 18 months, including a 600 day sobriety.

She recently took to Instagram to say she’s received a lot of messages about her sobriety.
“Seems to get a lot of messages asking if I’ve started drinking again,” she explained.
“I haven’t! 643 days since my last sip! Thanks for the question!’ She added.

Chrissie previously revealed that she had given up alcohol because it “didn’t serve her”.
Speaking on The Project in October last year, she said she relies on alcohol to cope with the stress of Covid lockdowns.
“It was a decision I made for myself after giving her a fair nudge in the first lockdown last year,” she said at the time.
