Marvel actor Jeremy Renner was flown Sunday after the safety device on his snowcat plow failed, causing it to roll over his legs. According to TMZ, the ‘Hawkeye’ actor was alone trying to clear a way out of his Lake Tahoe home when the machine accidentally ran over one of his legs, causing him to lose a significant amount of blood.
Speaking to the outlet, eyewitnesses said Mr. Renner was plowing the road about a quarter-mile from his home so his family could get out after a massive New Year’s Eve storm. The plow machine – dubbed the Snowcat – then accidentally drove over one of his legs.
According to TMZ, the area was treated like an active crime scene after the freak accident. A neighbor of Mr. Renner, who is a doctor, managed to put a tourniquet on the ‘Avengers’ star’s leg until paramedics arrived to fly him to hospital. His injuries were “extensive” because other parts of his body were injured in addition to his leg, the media outlet reported.

In a statement, Mr Renner’s rep previously said the actor is in “critical but stable condition” following the injury. “His family is with him and he is being well taken care of,” the rep added.
Mr. Renner has a home in the Mount Rose-Ski Tahoe area. Last month, the actor shared multiple updates on social media as Lake Tahoe received large amounts of snow. “Almost done with the kids’ sled run,” he wrote last week in an Instagram story that featured a snowplow. “Snowfalls on Lake Tahoe are no joke,” he wrote separately Twitter when sharing a picture of a snow-covered vehicle.
The 51-year-old has starred in several films and a TV series Hawkeye, a member of the Marvel’s Avengers superhero team. Mr. Renner has also been nominated for an Oscar twice, for his roles in The Hurt Locker and The Town.
