After analyzing these aspects, it turned out that Tampa is the best city in the entire state to live in. With a population of 387,050, the cost of a house is approximately $437,000. The median income is $55,634 per year, while a family’s monthly expenses are around $6,941. The unemployment rate is low, not exceeding 2.7%.
Tampa’s health score is 59/100, and 7,680 crimes were reported over the course of a year. Other highly valued points, according to the publication, are the almost pristine beaches, the existence of museums and other artistic institutions, and efficient public transport.
Finance and other businesses make Tampa a great place to find work. Meanwhile, proximity to Orlando and Miami also plays in its favor.
Cities for the good life in Florida
After Tampa on the Forbes list, Jacksonville is followed by Gainesville and Cape Coral. Orlando ranks fifth among Florida’s best cities to live in.
Miami is in sixth place. The median home price is $617,000. Income is estimated to be around $44,268 per year while expenses are around $7,549. The unemployment rate is 2.6%.
Its “incredible beaches, colorful buildings, electrifying nightlife along with a prominent presence of Caribbean and Latin American culture,” according to the magazine, are undeniable attractions. In addition, there are many job opportunities in tourism, aviation, finance, international trade and health.
Melbourne, Sarasota, Tallahassee and Pensacola complete the list in tenth place.
