Bay Area Panera Bread Tech CEO Arrested After Peering Into Woman’s Toilet, Police Say – San Francisco Chronicle

The CEO of a Bay Area tech company was arrested at a Mountain View restaurant after looking into a woman’s toilet stall, according to police.

Officers were dispatched to the Panera Bread on El Monte Avenue south of El Camino Real around noon Monday, where a woman said a man in a booth next to her stuck his head underneath to watch her, Mountain View Police said in a press release.

They identified the suspect as 35-year-old Eduardo Moreno, CEO of SeaDrone, a Palo Alto-based company that offers drone-based underwater inspections, according to its website.

The woman screamed, and Moreno fled the restaurant towards El Camino Real, police said. The victim gave chase, and when she tried to take a picture of him, Moreno grabbed her phone and pushed her to the ground before running off towards Marich Way, the press release said.

Shortly after, Moreno was seen changing his shirt and jumping over a fence before returning to the restaurant, where a group of bystanders attacked him as responding officers arrived, authorities said.

Moreno was arrested on charges of “spying and robbery,” authorities added. He was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on Monday, according to the publication. It was not immediately known when he would appear in court.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about the Moreno or Montag incident to contact Detective Josh Gould at [email protected].
