Keira Knightley was shown portraying a reporter in new photos released Tuesday for her upcoming crime drama Boston Strangler in the 1960s.

The 37-year-old English actress in the upcoming Hulu movie portrays Record-American newspaper reporter Loretta McLaughlin, who was the first journalist to connect the Boston Strangler murders.

Knightley was featured in historical stills alongside co-star Carrie Coon, 41, who plays fellow editor and confidant Jean Cole.

“Experience the compelling true story of two reporters who led the prosecution to uncover one of the most infamous serial murder cases of all time,” read a tweet shared by Hulu and 20th Century Studios.

“The Boston Strangler starring Keira Knightley and Carrie Coon will stream on @Hulu on March 17,” the posts added.

Written and directed by Matt Ruskin, the film also stars Alessandro Nivola, David Dastmalchian, Morgan Spector, Bill Camp and Chris Cooper.

A True Crime Companion podcast by ABC Audio about the Boston Strangler will be released ahead of the film’s debut.

The podcast is hosted by former Boston Globe reporter Dick Lehr, who also reported on the Boston Strangler case and knew McLaughlin.

Boston Strangler is produced by Ridley Scott, Kevin J. Walsh, Michael Pruss, Josey McNamara and Tom Ackerley, with Michael Fottrell and Sam Roston serving as executive producers.

Thirteen women were murdered in the Boston area in the early 1960s, and Albert DeSalvo later confessed to being the Boston Strangler serial killer after being accused of rape.

The Boston Strangler film was released in 1968, starring the late Tony Curtis in the role of DeSalvo.

David Faustino, 48, best known as Bud Bundy on the Fox sitcom Married With Children, also portrayed DeSalvo in the 2008 film Boston Strangler: The Untold Story.

Knightley was last seen in 2021’s apocalyptic Christmas black comedy Silent Night.
