EastEnders fans are convinced Lily Slater is lying about the identity of her baby’s father.
In Wednesday’s episode, the 12-year-old finally confessed to Stacey and Jean who the baby’s father was too concerned about after anticipating the bombshell New Year’s reveal.
Despite fans speculating who the father-to-be might be, EastEnders finally confirmed the father is Ricky Junior – the 12-year-old son of Sam Mitchell and Jack Branning.
However, suspicious viewers believe the young woman (Lilia Turner) is not telling the truth and tried to throw her mother and grandmother off the trail, with one fan noting that he “wouldn’t believe Lily at all”.
Allegations: EastEnders fans are convinced Lily Slater is lying about the identity of her baby’s father
After learning from her mother that she was pregnant, Lily refused to reveal the father’s identity, leading Stacey to fear that she had been nursed by an adult.
Stacey even reached out to Lily’s estranged best friend Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) for information about her girl, with the boy revealing how Lily had become something of a loner at school and didn’t interact with many people.
In scenes towards the end of Wednesday’s episode, Stacey was at her wit’s end as she begged her daughter to tell the truth.
She even went on to blame Ricky, having previously seen Lily wave at him from the window and tell her daughter, “If it’s Ricky, just tell me.”
The truth? In Wednesday’s episode, the 12-year-old finally confessed to Stacey and Jean who the baby’s father was too concerned about after anticipating the bombshell New Year’s reveal
“Please darling, at least I know you weren’t abused and nursed by a pervert!”
While Lily remained silent, Stacey enlisted the help of her mother Jean (Gillian Wright) to convince Lily to do the right thing and put her out of her misery.
Jean sat down next to her granddaughter and said to her: “You know darling, we love you very much and I’m going to tell you a secret.

“Your mother loves you more than anything in the whole world, and as much as you want it, and we all want it, that’s not going to go away.
“You know that, you’re not a child, on your face I think you’re more grown up than me sometimes, so please reassure your mother.”
Eventually, Lily opened up to her concerned family, then remarked, “He’s not my boyfriend. We only did it once.’
The boy then confirmed that the father is indeed Ricky Junior, with Lily nodding her head and saying “Yes” when Stacey asked, “So it’s Ricky?”

A fourth fan wrote: “So is Ricky (Jr.) really Lily’s baby daddy? Or did she just totally lie to get both Jean and Stacey off her back? If it’s the first, it’s the absolute last thing Jack needs right now, besides everything with Amy. Not to mention Denise’s upcoming affair…’
They then added, “Does anyone else think Lily’s baby daddy is actually Nugget? She obviously knows how her family feels about the Pansears and vice versa, so maybe she lied to not add anything? Also, she never actually said it was Ricky, she just agreed with what Stacey said.
“I don’t think Ricky Jr. is Lily’s baby daddy… I think judging by Lily looking out the window it’s Nugget,” noted a fifth.
A sixth EastEnders watcher surmised: “I think Lily is lying”.
Speculating with another: “Don’t believe Lily at all, she’s covering for someone else. Why say he must never know?’

Amidst the compelling new storyline, actress Lacey Turner, 34, spoke about her daughter’s on-screen plight and her character’s shock at the thought of her daughter becoming a mother at such a young age.
She told the press: “Stacey is absolutely shocked. They talk about their 12-year-old daughter, who has no boyfriend and, as far as Stacey knows, doesn’t really like boys.
“At first, Stacey thinks the doctors must be wrong. After that, she goes through every single emotion one could possibly feel in such a short amount of time.
Lacey went on to say how Stacey initially kept the news from Lily’s adoptive father, Martin Fowler (James Bye), but she confided in mother Jean (Gillian Wright).
She added: “Stacey steps on eggshells. She needs to find out from Lily how this happened, who the father is and all the details. But to do that, she needs to build trust with Lily, and if her daughter wants it kept a secret, Stacey will keep it a secret.
Bad: The news came after Lily (Lilia Turner) was hospitalized after she and several others – including Jean and Eve – fell ill from a carbon monoxide leak at the Slater’s New Year’s Eve party
News: A doctor then called her from the room and told her, “We were concerned about the severity of your daughter’s abdominal pain, so we did an ultrasound and something came up that is concerning given her age.”
Stunned: The doctor then broke the shocking news, telling Stacey: “She’s pregnant.” Unable to take in the stunning news, the character said: “It can’t be her. She is twelve years old!’
“That’s why she doesn’t trust Martin because she’s just trying to get the information and build that trust and not break it.
“Jean is Stacey’s rock, her best friend and they have such a strong bond. Stacey and Jean have been through so much together, and Jean is the only person who can truly understand Stacey inside and out.”
The actress continued, “Having Stacey share this secret with her mother is a huge burden off her shoulders, but she also wants someone to tell her what to do.
“In Stacey’s head, she’s like, ‘Do I just do what Lily wants? Am I supposed to be angry? Should I tell Lily she can’t keep the baby?” Stacey only turns to Jean for help. She wants someone to say to her, “Stacey, that’s what you do.”
