The former Montreal Canadiens captain could therefore play his first game of the season and his first confrontation in the Canes jersey on Thursday night while the Nashville Predators are guests at the PNC Arena.

Pacioretty underwent surgery on August 10 to repair a torn Achilles tendon after injuring himself during summer training. Just under a month earlier, the US-American had been picked up by the Hurricanes by the Vegas Golden Knights in exchange for future fees.

The 34-year-old forward scored 19 goals and provided 18 assists for 37 points in 39 games with the Golden Knights in 2021-2022. Pacioretty has missed more than half of this season due to a lower body injury and wrist surgery.

Pacioretty was selected in the first round (22nd overall) of the 2007 draft by the Habs and played the first 10 campaigns of his pro career with the Montreal organization. He had 323 goals and 319 assists for 642 points in 850 National League games.
