Queen of Shops Mary Portas is more of a trash princess in her neighborhood.
The 62-year-old TV presenter shared this picture of herself in her pajamas picking up rubbish near her home in Primrose Hill.
“The garbage collectors sing and whistle loudly, clean up, they are doing a vital job. But they also tend to leave a lot of little things behind,” she says.

“And that’s where I come in. Because every week I go out in my pajamas to clean up what’s left in front of my house – and often in front of my neighbors as well.”
She adds: “So if you’re ever in North London and see a woman picking up rubbish in her pajamas around 7.30am most Wednesdays, you know who it is.”
What do you give children who have everything? In the case of Sir Elton John and David Furnish’s sons, the answer seems to be: a farm.
I understand the pop legend and her husband have started a farming business for Zachary, 12, and Elijah, nine, who were born to the same surrogate mother.

Newly released accounts for the company, named Offspring Enterprises Ltd, report that it “operates as a farm”.
Her children own £2.6million in property and equipment through the company.
She’s been a show business star since winning TV talent show Opportunity Knocks at the age of six, but Bonnie Langford says she feels “insecure” about the overbearing nature of the industry.
“I’ve never really had confidence because I think it’s difficult in this world where everything is a little bit wrong,” the 58-year-old actress tells me.
“Social media doesn’t help because I like real people and there’s a lot of nurturing and covering up of who you really are.”
Bad slip for Sandra
Historian Lady Antonia Fraser isn’t the only prominent author forced to spend part of the Christmas season in hospital.
I heard that writer Sandra Howard, wife of former Tory leader Lord (Michael) Howard, broke her hip in a fall.
“Langing in a hospital bed,” ex-Vogue model Lady Howard, 82, tells friends online. ‘No fun.’
Her son, Sholto Douglas-Home, tells me: “She fell and broke a bone just before Christmas. She was with the family over Christmas but things didn’t seem to be getting better so it needed to be checked out properly.
“It’s a painful process that needs to heal on its own.”
Sandra launched her latest novel, Love At War, last summer.
Guaranteed bat-free! Rock star Ozzy Osbourne, notorious for biting off a bat’s head on stage in his roaming heyday, is renting out a £1,000-a-week cottage on his Buckinghamshire estate.
“This charming six-bedroom period farmhouse is said to date from the late 17th century and has been lovingly renovated in recent years,” enthuses the landlord.
Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy and his wife Sharon, a former judge on The X Factor, are also undertaking major renovations to their main home while he battles Parkinson’s disease.
Ozzy, 74, received planning permission for a “rehab wing” that included “an abundance of holding and seating” and “discreet grab bars and utilities” around his home.
Darts should be an Olympic sport, claims comedian Jack Whitehall, inspired by Michael Smith’s spectacular 7-4 victory in the World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace, north London.
“Come on, Olympiad, time to pull your finger out,” says Jack, 34, who was educated at Marlborough College and whose pals include Princess Eugenie.
As for walking in the race, Whitehall adds, “Are you really telling me that an event where you walk like you’ve smashed yourself is better than this?”

Children play at number 10
While the residents of 10 and 11 Downing Street were at each other’s throats in the Blair and Brown years, things are more harmonious today – at least among the youngsters.
“The children have already started to play with Rishi regularly [Sunak]’s kids since they live next door,” revealed Chancellor Jeremy Hunt, whose family moved in over No. 11 last month.
‘One of his daughters goes to boarding school, but there are [still] four children and rabbits, when everyone else has gone home, play hide and seek.
“They are all of a similar age – Rishi’s daughters are nine and eleven, mine eight and ten, and I have a son who is twelve. It’s a great playground for them – it looks pretty small from the outside, but like the Tardis, there’s a lot of space inside.”
He adds: “It’s nice that there is a family atmosphere in an otherwise rather formal place.”
