War in Ukraine: Putin “is dying,” says director of Ukrainian military intelligence

According to a senior Ukrainian official who got his information from “human sources”, the Russian president is suffering from cancer.

Vladimir Putin’s state of health again raises questions. In an interview aired on Wednesday, January 4, by American television channel ABC, the director of Ukraine’s military intelligence service, Kyrylo Boudanov, assured that the Russian president was “dying” and had “cancer.” This information would come from “human sources,” he said.

The senior officer, who has headed Ukraine’s intelligence service since 2020 and is said to be behind last October’s attack on the Crimean bridge, according to Russian intelligence, believes the war in Ukraine “should be ended before[Putin]dies.”

Several speculations

Rumors about Vladimir Putin’s health have been circulating since the beginning of the war. According to US intelligence officials, the former KGB officer underwent treatment for advanced cancer in April 2022. Former British MP Louise Mensch assured her that Vladimir Putin will have Parkinson’s since 2020. Other sources attribute him to thyroid cancer or an autoimmune disease.

But for the time being, these speculations have not been confirmed. Last May, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov denied the rumours, saying in a statement: “I don’t think anyone with all their senses can see in[Vladimir Putin]any signs of illness or disease.”
